Weekend Weather Update
Updated: Thursday, October 9, 2025
We are actively monitoring a coastal storm (nor’easter) developing off the North Carolina coast this weekend. While the strongest impacts are expected across the lower Outer Banks—especially Hatteras Island and areas farther south—our northern beaches (Corolla, Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, and Nags Head) are forecast to experience breezy conditions, rough surf, and periods of higher tides, but nothing severe at this time.
The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory through Monday morning for low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. This may result in minor soundside flooding during high tides. Beachgoers should also be aware of dangerous rip currents and large waves through the weekend.
We will continue to monitor updates closely and will notify you if forecasts or conditions change.
