Located in Nags Head, Jockey's Ridge is the tallest natural sand dune on the East Coast. Kids enjoy flying kites, running or rolling down the steep sandy dunes and exploring the wide open spaces. Bring your camera because Jockey's Ridge makes for a great photo op! Behind Jockey's Ridge is access to a beautiful Sound Beach with shallow, warm Sound waters. The Sound beach is the perfect place for little ones who are too young to swim in the Ocean. If you go on a good day, maybe you can play in the Castle that's hidden in the dune!
Whether you choose to fish from one of the fine Outer Banks fishing piers or you choose a day out at sea on a Charter Fishing boat, the Outer Banks fishing experience is unforgettable. H2OBX has a whole section dedicated to kids. It includes multiple slides, a smaller wave pool, and a huge bucket that dumps water on you when it's full. The kids will have a blast!

The Outer Banks offers several historic Lighthouses, many of which are open to the public for climbing. Outer Banks Lighthouses that you can climb include; Currituck Lighthouse, Cape Hatteras Lighthouse & Bodie Island Lighthouse.
