6 May 2020
It is with great excitement that we are able to announce, The Outer Banks will open for visitors beginning May 16th, 2020! Dare & Currituck Counties have officially announced visitor reentry beginning on 5/16/20. Read announcement here. All confirmed and fully paid reservations with arrivals on or after May 16th will be honored. If you are unable to travel to the Outer Banks, please contact us via email firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your options.
The state of North Carolina is currently operating under a three-stage phase to lift the restrictions across our state to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Like other towns and cities across the nation, restaurants, bars and most non-essential shops are not open for normal business at this time. Restaurants are offering curbside pick-up and delivery only. Local supplies of essentials; such as toilet paper, cleaning supplies, sanitizer, and some food types are limited, therefore we highly recommend you bring these supplies with you.
What Will Be Different In 2020?
We have adjusted our operations to prioritize the safety of our guests and staff. We ask for your patience and understanding of the following items that will be slightly different from other years.
MASK ARE REQUIRED
North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper announced that people are required to wear face masks in public. A face covering must be worn in any inside or outside space where social distancing cannot be performed. Stores, restuarant, and many other public facilities are inforcing this reqirement throughout the entire Outer Banks. We appreciate your willingness to help stop the spread of COVID.
Standard check-in time is between 4pm - 6pm, however with the additional cleaning procedures implemented for COVID-19, we anticipate check-in at 6pm for all reservations arriving between Memorial Day - Labor Day. Of course, if your home is prepared prior to 6pm we will get you in as soon as possible. All of our vacation rentals provide keyless entry for the 2020 season, so you will not need to physically check-in at an office.
Early Check In
New Early Check-In requests are unavailable for arrivals between Memorial Day - Labor Day. We will attempt to honor early check-in arrangements if already confirmed.
We will continue to provide linen service (sheets, towels & pillow cases) with beds made for homes where linens are provided and guest ordered linens. However, comforters will be sanitized, folded and placed at the foot of the bed (as many guests have requested to bring their own blankets). If you choose to bring your own sheets, blankets and/or pillows, please place the unused items in the closet of the bedroom you found them in. All of the linens (sheets and towels) that we provide are laundered in commercial laundry facilities.
To reduce interaction between staff and guests, we are limiting services performed during occupancy to urgent requests scheduled by appointment only, where you will be asked to vacate the premises during the appointment time. If the service is not urgent, we will take care of it after your departure. We understand that there may be exceptions where you don’t feel comfortable not accompanying our staff through the home. If this is the case, please be prepared to wear a mask and gloves.
All guests must be prepared to bring essential supplies with them. Items such as cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels and sanitizer are currently extremely limited on the Outer Banks. We will continue to provide a starter set of supplies, but due to toilet paper shortages we will be limiting to one roll for every two bathrooms upon arrival.
Amenities & Decor
We’ve asked our homeowners to declutter their homes as much as possible to avoid storing items that are unable to be clean/sanitized on a weekly basis. Items like books, games, magazines and DVDs may not be available this year inside the vacation homes. Please plan to bring your own.
Community & Subdivision Amenities
Communities & subdivisions may have updated their hours, dates, rules and/or regulations regarding their public facilities due to COVID-19. Please see our mobile app for community contact information and links for more information.
Check out will remain at 10am on the day of departure. We are asking all guests to use the mobile check-out feature on our mobile app (Hospitality By Glad To Have You) to mark their actual check-out time. This will allow us to prioritize housekeeping services when guests depart early. We will NOT be allowing late check out. All guests MUST vacate the property prior to 10am on the day of departure.
Enhanced Housekeeping Procedures
We're taking precautions for your safety and ours.
