We had a great time even with the rain. In previous visits, we stayed closer to Corolla We like it much better now at MP8. We like the area because of the closeness to the beach, shops and Maneto. We also don’t sit in the long travel lines to go anywhere!

Everything was lovely except trying to figure out how to work the tv's.

Wonderful stay at Dollar Short. Property was very clean and maintained. Only a walk across the street to the beach. Pool was perfect to cool off in and sit beside to enjoy the sun and some reading. Many restaurants to choose from in close proximity as well as shopping (all kinds) and fresh seafood market. Kitchen was well stocked with appliances and cookware/dishes to use. Lots of space.

Overall, we were pleased with our stay at Dollar Short. Being located on Beach Road, directly across from a public beach access was a plus! The home is older and the furnishings are dated. We traveled with four teenagers and they LOVED the pool table! The kitchen was decently equipped but there were no pot holders (not a huge issue but had we known, we could have brought some). We prepared most of our meals at the house and were excited about the grill. The "charcoal grill" in the description is a park grill and not large enough to grill for our group of 7. Since we had already grocery-shopped with grilling in mind, we had to purchase a grill for the week. Again, not a deal-breaker but had we known, we would have planned differently. It was nice having access to the garage, as it offered secure and convenient storage for beach items during the week. There was ample parking for our three vehicles. It would have been nice to have deck furniture. Fortunately, we brought bag chairs and used them on decks/balconies. The pool and hot tub were great, however, there were some junky, bulky lounge chairs stacked on one side that limited the pool deck. We found a vacuum in one of the closets but never a broom. The home was clean, which is most important. We had a great vacation and will return to the OBX, but choose a different property for our stay.

We rented this house last minute and are quite happy with it! The staff at Beach Realty are always great. Had the opportunity to meet the owner, nice man. The jets in the hot tub were weak and it stopped holding it's temperature on the second to last night. The pool guy corrected the error when he was there the day after we checked in, the same error popped up which is likely why is wasn't heating. Would be nice if instructions were left to fix error; we had no hot tub the last full day of our vacation. Perhaps owner will replace as the we were told the issues are because it's old.
Overall house is clean and comfortable. Well worth the price. Directly across from the beach and walkable to many places. Recommend and would stay again

The place was really nice. Talked too the owner he is a really nice guy and always takes care of the place.

We had a wonderful week in the Outer Banks. House is dated but overall, very nice. Rental company was awesome with keeping us informed and assisting us.

Loved it. Would definitely like to have it again next year . Same week

The house was very nice. Having the kitchen and living room area on the 3rd floor, which I assume is the norm for this area, means you will get your steps in :)
The ice cream shop next door is a must visit, delicious!
Location is great. A short walk to the beach, a short drive for groceries. Plenty of great experiences to be had within short driving distance.
I thought it was very nice to be able to check in/out online with phone. No hassle.
If the lights worked for the hot tub and pool, it probably would have made the experience a little better after sun down but not a deal breaker. The management of the property never really returned our calls or attempted contacts so never got that fixed.
Still, overall, had a great time with the family.

The house was very roomy and my guests had plenty of space! It’s location is great being right next to a beach access area, close to shopping and food as well! The pool was amazing and felt great after a long day of fishing. We had a small viewing spot of the ocean! We will be back one day

Beach Realty did a very good job - everything was automated and easy. The property was clean & offered plenty of space. The property is dated but, within walking distance to the beach which is very nice. It is also within the walking distance to some restaurants. My only negative comment would be that on the morning we were leaving, staff was on site making noise - I believe they were there to close the pool for the season but, it felt like we were being rushed out even though we left ahead of the 10am departure time.

The house is kept up well and real close to the beach.

The location is perfect. Just a simple walk across the road to get to the beach. Great area with lots of local things to do. Perfect price for all you get.

When our original booking was cancelled when the home flooded the day before our arrival we were worried. But management found us a great alternative. Exceeded expectations. Pool a plus. Two large refrigerators very helpful.

Everything was great. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need and there is plenty of room for a large family. It was conveniently close to anything we needed and the public access was right there to go to the beach. I would definitely recommend this house.

It was a great location, price was good, close to everything!! Had a problem with the pool circulating the second day and they came immediately and fixed it. Some of the doors in the house were hard to lock, had to use the deadbolts on some. I would have liked to have some beach chairs to take over to the beach but there were not any there. Towels would have been good to have also but we managed. Overall I would say it was a great week and we will return.

This house was in a perfect location. It is set up very well and feels like home. I would stay here again. Had a wonderful time with family.

This was the second year that we have stayed at this property. My husband and I have a special needs child and we vacation with another couple, our best friends. It's the perfect size and layout for us all to have privacy when we want it. The yard is fenced so my son is safely enclosed. The pool and hot tub are amazing, that's one of the reasons we love the house. The beach access is literally directly across from us, but we still have an ocean view without paying beachfront prices. The owners are so sweet, and take great care. This year we arrived the same day that tropical storm Hermine was moving out. There was some damage but they came over as soon as we called to take care of it. The owner came over himself to clean the pool twice. Husband and BFF complain that the wifi is not that good, but it's vacation! That's literally the only complaint any of us had. We love this house, we plan to return in 2015 for our third stay, definitely recommend it!

Overall the house is in good condition but the old washer and dryer and hot tub that were in the garage should be taken to the dump. The outside lights over the pool and in the pool did not work. Cabinets are broken in kitchen. Trash pick up should be on the day a family departs we had to borrow our neighbors trash can

A great place and great location close to beach access. Kitchen supplies were limited for cooking. ie pan and bowl sizes for large food items/preparation. Well stocked with everything else.

I recently returned from another fantastic week on the Outer Banks with my husband and a group of our friends. We had a fantastic time despite the tropical storm that hit. Dollar Short is in a great location and has everything you need in a beach house and more. However, there were a lot of things we noticed once we got there. The kitchen appliances and cookware are very old and very limited. There was next to no porch furniture, which was a tad disappointing since the view was amazing and there was so much deck space. We LOVED the ping pong table, the layout of the house and the crow's nest. The pool furniture was very old and uncomfortable. That being said, I would definitely stay in this house again (though it wouldn't be my first choice) and the location is hard to beat. Would be nice if the owners could update the appliances, cookware, and deck furniture.

it rained 4 days of our stay, spent a lot of time in or near house. inside house has slight pet odor to it. vcrs are a little dated. some deck railings are a little wobbly. bring a hammer, deck floors have a lot of nails that are sticking up need to wear shoes on deck or you will hurt your feet. didn't like the increase in price from home away price to actual $400 increase at booking. otherwise is was a cool place to stay. it is a very short walk to beach.

We couldn't have been more pleased with this home! It had everything we needed, and the pool and hot tub were perfect. We even got to meet the owners and they are so lovely! We definitely plan to rent again next year, highly recommend this property.
