Carolina Getaway met all our requirements Everyone had their own private space. The kitchen was well stocked ,just remember to bring your own potholders and dis towels.
The pool and hot tub were put to good use.
Be aware there are a lot of steps. Anyone with knee and hip problems will find them challenging.
Going to the beach was tough especially with baby equipment.
The house was clean but could use a little sprucing up. New slipcover on the sofa. Fresh paint on front door and the nails on the deck should be nailed back in.
I would recommend this home. We had a great time.

Wonderful Vacation Home

We had a great stay at Carolina Getaway with multiple generations enjoying the house from ages 3 - 70. The pool/backyard area is great and I love the magnetic gate latch so kids can't go into the pool unattended. The video game was a huge hit on the rainy day. All of the bedrooms with en suite bathrooms were great, the walls are a little thin and we could hear people snoring on the middle floor from the master bedroom! Beach Realty staff was excellent and acted on any requests for help very quickly. The a/c on the middle and lower levels wasn't working and they repaired it within 24 hours. Only issue was distance to the beach for seniors with mobility issues, there are NO golf carts allowed, we ended up driving and dropping people off at the access paths.

My family loved the house so much that we tried to rent it for next year.
It met all our needs.
There were a few glitches that didn’t affect our stay. The sliding glass door on the top level was very hard to open. There were some dead bugs on the walls in the entry way that needed to be cleaned.
Other than that, it was great!

Nice Carolina Getaway

The house was nice but the weather was not.
Description was accurate. Not too far from the beach.
Well maintained.
Pool and hot tub were clean. Tennis courts and olympic size pool are a bonus.
We always enjoy shopping at Timbuctu, miniature golf and go-carts for the children.
Sadly no indoor eating at Cosmo's pizza any more.
Good value at the local bagel shop.

Huge house, bathrooms for every adult bedroom was great! Pool, proximity to the beach, pool table, fully stocked kitchen,all pluses! Only complaints was the cleanliness of the house. There was sand in one of the beds, hair and dust in one of the bathrooms, garbage on the floor in one of the bedrooms, obviously wasn’t vacuumed.

Loved our visit to the OBX. The house had everything that we needed and was in a good location in proximity to the beach. Only complaint is the texting communication with the rental agency could use improvement.

THE UNIT WAS CLEAN AND READY A LITTLE EARLY. WE HAD A PROBLEM WITH WI-FI AT FIRST BUT DISCONNECTED AND RECONNECTED ROUTER AND EVERYTHING WAS MUCH BETTER. Loved Carolina Getaway!

We had the most amazing week staying at Carolina Getaway in OBX. It is located in a great spot in Corolla, close to beaches as well as shops/ice cream/dinner/boating, etc. You can easily walk to the beach with your things, as there are many quick paths that lead right down to the beach. The house itself is incredibly clean, spotless in fact. Each room had it's own bathroom which was hugely helpful for my large family. We had many happy meals around the big table on the third floor (beautiful space for gathering) and many swims in the pool! We are already hoping to come back next year - definitely recommend!

Spent a week in mid-June with 18 in our extended family. House was well maintained and comfortable. When we notice the grill was almost out of gas the management company supplied a new one very promptly. Nice pool. Walk to the beach was just a few minutes. No real view of the ocean other than a glimpse in the distance between houses but we knew that when we reserved the place and the price reflects the distance from the beach. All in all a good value and a nice place.

Fantastic family beach week

Great rental in a wonderful location. Disappointed they are going to a Saturday rental next year. Only complaint was the WiFi - internet was terrible. Luckily we were there for vacation and not for work! Everything else was fantastic. Would highly recommend!

A Taste of Home

As a first time OBX'er, this home exceeded my family's expectations. The house was immaculate and while not directly on the beach, it is within walking distance making it perfect for my family. The cleanliness was wonderful as we traveled with my daughter who is just over 1.5 y/o. I would recommend this home to others for sure!

Very satisfied with rental unit. Only rented New Jersey shore properties before and the only difference is the cleaning supplies, toliet paper, paper towels, etc. Jersey properties would leave one roll, etc to start you with. There was nothing left to start your vacation. Fortunately, we planned accordingly and had all the products.

We had 19 family members stay (includes 10 kids). House was well equipped in the kitchen. 2 dishwashers a real plus. Beach access is about 2 blocks way (we rented a beach cart - $35 / wk at Duck Village Outfitters). Home has 10 beach chairs;but, be advised they are the low ones. No other beach stuff (boogie boards, etc,).Convenient shopping areas a few minutes North / South of Ocean Sands. Some family members went to new water park and loved it.

Great vacation week for our family of 16 with 7 kiddos

Loved all the master baths with TVs and deck access. Nice privacy when desired. Spacious great room that accommodated more than the pics would predict. Pool got lots of nice sun and wasn't shaded as in pics. One pool lounge area had shade and one had sun which pleased everyone. Kitchen was spacious, very well stocked with large pot for crab or corn, and 2 dishwashers was great. Beds were very comfy. There were 10 beach chairs, 2 high chairs, 2 pack n plays, and a baby gate, all in excellent shape. Only reason for 4 stars was stairs over dune to the beach. Difficult to transport kid wagon with beach supplies, but the men handled it fine. Beach itself was great and not overly crowded. Fishing pond close by was great, too. Beach Realty app made getting info easy. Keyless entry was great for multiple adults. No key worries.

Nice house with plenty of common area and nice furnishings

Lovely house, better than most we have stayed in. All appliances worked and the two coffee makers and two dishwashers in the kitchen were a welcome addition. Also the five master bedrooms were great! Good furnishings.

Only two complaints, the trash cans are old and broken down and missing a wheel and had some maggots on them. Pool couldve been a bit larger.

Great location, especially for us since we spent our days on the 4wd beach

Great experience!

We were quite pleased with this home overall. It was very clean, spacious, and with 17 people in one house we expected it to feel cramped and loud. You could not hear others between walls or on other levels.
The major advantage was the short walk to the beach! We also appreciated the empty lot behind us. Some homes look directly into another home whereas this home had a bit more privacy.
Loved our time in Corolla!

Fun Beach Trip

We have stayed in this house several times and really like it. It is a good fit for our family. We appreciated the new slip covers on furniture, new bed covers and shams and other decorative upgrades. Also, the internet connection worked great this year. (In past years we had lots of outages.)

Our only problem this year was the gas grill. It did not have any propane in the tank. We did not know this until we tried to cook our first meal on it. Dinner was very late that night! Perhaps checking to make sure the grill is in working order should be part of the pre-checkin duties for housekeeping.

We are planning to come back to this house next year. It is in a good location and not too far from the beach. All 15 of us enjoyed this trip.

OBX Stay 2015

The only thing I was a little disappointed in was the fact that even though the house was empty and clean prior to 4:00PM, the company never called us to say we could access the house early. I stopped in around 1:00PM, explained that we arrived early and was told someone would call me once the house was verified as clean and ready. I never received a call even though I know the house was empty. People spend a lot of money for a week stay and I would figure that at least some common courtesy for their money would be nice.

Beach wedding fun

We had a great time at Carolina Getaway. The hottub didn't work when we got there but Kitty Hawk rentals took care of it. Loved how close we were to everything and the house is fabulous.
