Why 1587? In 1587, English colonists came to Roanoke Island — and in honor of that history, the Gardens attempt to light 1,587 jack-o’-lanterns along the pumpkin path during this annual fall celebration.

Pumpkin Carving (Free!)
Come carve a pumpkin to be added to the path:

Thursday, October 23rd & Friday, October 24th | 10 AM – 4 PM

Saturday, October 25th | Before the event begins

Or bring your own carved pumpkin(s) to add to the glowing display!

Event Night: Saturday, October 25th

5:00 – 6:30 PM | Pumpkin Drop-Off & Trick-or-Treating

6:30 PM | Contests Begin

8:00 PM | Event Wrap-Up

The evening includes trick-or-treating, contests, and of course, pumpkins! Guests are encouraged to come in costume to enjoy the festivities.

Extras
In addition to local vendors, the Gardens will have glow sticks, hot chocolate, apple cider, and s’mores packs (for the bonfire) available for purchase.
