Dare County’s 2nd Annual Family Fun in the Park Block Party
Date: Friday, July 18, 2025
Time: 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Location: Mustian Street and Aviation Park, Kill Devil Hills
Cost: Free and open to all residents, visitors, and property owners
Hosted by the Dare County Parks & Recreation Department, this year’s event celebrates both the department's 40th anniversary and the 40th anniversary of National Parks & Recreation Month.
The event begins at the Veterans Drive entrance to Family Recreation Park. Guests will receive a map to stamp at each stop along the loop for a chance to win prizes.
Planned Activities Include:
- Hot dogs served at the concession stand
- Water trivia dunk booth hosted by Dare County Water Department
- Sidewalk chalk art with the Dare County Library
- Grandparents vs. grandkids cornhole at the Thomas A. Baum Senior Center
- Scavenger hunts through Aviation Park with the Town of Kill Devil Hills
- Emergency and work vehicle displays from local agencies
- Family short court tennis with the Outer Banks Tennis Association
- Lawn games, a water slide, and informational booths from Dare County departments
