There is absolutely nothing that I can say negative about this house. Upon our arrival my entire family could not believe how clean this place is. Beautifully renovated and stocked for all needs. The only thing I could suggest to the owners are some shower heads that provide a tad more pressure but this is not something that would change my mind about returning. If you’re looking for a house with lots of space for large parties, this is the one!

Relaxing Week with Family

Tranquility provided a wonderful week for our 11 person extended family. We loved having easy access to the beach and the convenience of the swimming pool on days when the ocean was rough. The 3rd floor living space provided plenty of room for our family to enjoy meals and quality time together, but plenty of space to spread out in other parts of the home when desired.

We loved the South Nags Head location that is close to Fishheads, Jenette's Pier, and other shops and restaurants.

As other reviewers mentioned, the home is in need of a bit of maintenance in some areas, likely as a result of frequent renter traffic. (i.e. saggy couch throw pillows, extremely tattered door mat at the front entrance, missing decorative tiles in the pool, living room floor damaged) None of these minor items would keep us from renting the home again, and we hope to return in the future!

Wonderful family vacation

I searched high and low for a perfect location for our family reunion. This house fit the bill in every way - a lovely home and lots of space, a beautiful view and easily accessible. It's on the beach so sand is inevitably tracked around the house, and we found a few remnants from the prior renters (seemingly a hurried cleaning), but otherwise the pictures accurately show the home. Property Managers were very responsive - brought a new coffee maker, fixed lights, etc. It was our first trip to the Outer Banks and we hope to be back one day!

An awesome first trip to the Outer Banks with friends, including 5 children ages 9-15. Despite cooler than usual weather and high winds, we all had a wonderful getaway and soaked up lots of sun and relaxation. The home was great accommodations for our group of 9 and could have fit many more. The beds were comfortable and the house was well equipped with whatever you may need and very clean. Watching the sunrise and the multiple greetings from dolphins was a favorite for all. The proximity to shopping and activities was great. The house is "tired" and in need of some general maintenance (peeling or stained paint inside, badly worn deck boards that were a cause for many splinters, most of the hot tub jets don't work and neck cushions are gone, dirty baseboards with missing trim or caulking.) None of these issues were a reason for us to wish we had chosen a different home but should be addressed before they get far worse. The app is easy to use and helpful for common issues and questions, however, it would be nice if once a maintenance request was submitted, there was some sort of received acknowledgment and estimated repair schedule. My only complaint/criticism is that none of the maintenance reports or requests were repaired, despite selecting immediate repair through the app. A short trip to Duck, NC was lots of fun walking the boardwalk, shopping, and eating donuts on a stick. The sand dunes just down the road at the State Park were our favorite adventure along with several laps at the Full Throttle go-kart track.

Great location. I rented this place with 2 other families and what a fun time we had. Plenty of space and what a location. It was the first time visiting Nags head for all of us and we had a great time. No problem with the stay at all. We never had to contact the property management for anything.

Our multigenerational family group included 5 adults and six children including a toddler and a baby. The plentiful bedrooms gave us flexibility to accommodate older and younger kids. Access to the beach was easy, and the pool was a delightful alternative (and plenty warm enough). Other reviewers mentioned steep stairs, but the stairs seemed normal to us. House was very clean and the kitchen was well-stocked. Would definitely stay here again!

Best of all worlds!

You really get the best of all worlds at this house. Secluded location but only minutes to all shopping. Waking up to the view of the ocean from the 3rd floor kitchen/living area and deck, is priceless. Beds were super comfortable. Everything worked and house was spotless on move-in. The screen door to top deck was a little sticky (ocean air) but we left a little bottle of WD40 which did the trick. We were concerned about the public beach parking right next door, but we never noticed a soul. LOVED this house.

The house had a GREAT location. The check-in and checkout process was easy as well as reservation process. The description of the property was accurate. The only issue I had was that I did leave a message for the office through the app at check-in as well as through email to let them know that a large percentage of the lightbulbs were out in the house; however, I received no response during my stay. I did speak with them on the phone after departure and relayed that message again. Staff was very helpful and kind. I would highly recommend the property and property management company. This house was near Jeannette's Pier, plenty of shopping and restaurants.

Perfect Location!

If you are looking for an ocean front property, this is the place for you! This house literally sits on the ocean. We watched the sunrise and the dolphins every morning from the oversized deck.
Check-in was easy with the express check-in feature.
The home was clean and looks exactly like the pictures posted. One review stated that the steps inside the home were steep. This made us nervous as we brought our mother with us and she had knee replacement surgery 3 weeks prior but she (or any of us) didn’t have any trouble with them.
The kitchen is stocked with dishes, glasses, cups, pots and pans.
The only complaint I have and I hate to complain because this place was perfect, but because the sunrises right outside of the living room, that room gets hot!! There’s no shade or blind on the sliding glass doors so once that sun is up, it heats up quickly.
We truly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommended it!

The house was very clean. The location in terms of activity is perfect. Just a short drive to restaurants and attractions made for quick days trips. The house is located directly next to public beach access so keep that in mind. The only thing that really bothered us was that the staircase to the beach is terribly unsafe. It is wobbly and the wood is so rotten you couldn't hold onto the railings as you would have gotten splinters.

Wonderful family Spring Break

There were 11 of us, ages 3 - 73, so we settled into the top living space after deciding who sleeps where, and talked. We remarked on the table that was large enough to fit all of us, also was a great game table at night. The house is stocked with board games, puzzles, and a TV gaming system. We did not find games for the system but we were so busy with other things we didn't look very hard either.

The location was great! We enjoyed watching the waves roll in, the dolphins play, the pelicans skim the water, kites flying - both our and other visitors - and actually endured a no'easter, which we had no idea would be as strong for as long as it was.

One thing about this house, if you have trouble with stairs, this is not for you. They are steep and a lot of them between each level. After climbing from the bottom level to the top, my 3-year-old granddaughter looked at me seriously and said, 'Grandma, I'm about done with stairs!"

I would highly recommend Tranquility in Nags Head, NC as a vacation destination.

If you are staying off-season make sure the places you want to visit are open. The websites and/or advertising books do not tell you hours at all. We went to 3 different places for lunch one day and every one of them indicated they were open but we bumped our noses on 2 with hand-written signs on the window "Off Season, Closed," and the 3rd we were told by, maybe the owner, that "tomorrow" was opening day. That was at least posted on a large outdoor sign, but if their advertising doesn't state hours, how are we supposed to know? We ended up at Sonny's, south of the Hatteras Lighthouse, and were served and treated great even though the 8 of us walked in at 1:40 pm and they closed at 2. We did ask if they would serve us because of the number of people and the time and they graciously seated us and the food was good!

Gorgeous House!

Our check in time was 4pm. We arrived at 4:15 after getting groceries to find the cleaning people just getting there. We had to hang out until 6pm to get into the house. We then had service people at the house the same day. A guy came to repair deck railings and the basketball net, they had to come in the house and they were there 3 hours. Not my idea of relaxing. After all that, we loved the house, just wish we could have gotten in at the time we paid for. It was never acknowledged by the rental people.

Off season stay at tranquility

The house and property were as described; however, the quality check done prior to our check in was subpar. The screen was detached from the main floor deck door and was flapping in the breeze, a broken chair was in the middle of the deck, one of the king master bedrooms was without power and had an outlet cover that was broken with an exposed electrical box, there was a line of dead ants along the upper cabinets, and uncleaned walls in the kitchen by the trash cans (obviously food splatter) and upstairs master bathroom by the toilet. The gentleman who came to correct the electrical issues, remove the broken chair and repair the screen was very nice but knew he didn’t have the right materials to repair the screen and tried a bandaid approach rather than getting the correct items and it promptly broke free an hour after he left. We really enjoyed our trip and the view from the house but the aforementioned issues were quite frustrating.

This was my first time visiting the outer banks. The home was perfect for my family of 13. It was very well stocked and the furniture was very comfortable. My only complaint was with the dangerous condition of the outside decking and stairs to the beach. There were broken treads and loose rails. Overall we had a great time and would come back again.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at Tranquility. The house had updates not viewed in the pictures, the location was incredible, beach was impeccable and the pool and hot tub were great. We could not have asked for anything more and were thrilled with everything about the house. The bedroom layout worked great for us and everything was clean and well taken care of. We couldn't believe how well stocked the kitchen was, as well as everything in the house. Everything was GREAT!

Late October family vacation

We had a wonderful family beach vacation with several family groups participating. There was plenty of room in the house for sleeping and some privacy for our three family groups. The location is excellent both in regard to shopping/services and to the beach.

We had a wonderful family vacation - the house was perfect for our group - 3 generations together. House is well maintained and comfortable-just a few suggestions to make it even better: disposal, ice maker or at least new ice trays, a few of those high deck chairs so one can see the water over the railing.

Tranquility Review

Pros - Great Location, Overall Clean, Management Easy to work with, Awesome view. I would stay again and recommend to others.

Cons - Foosball table - Awful, not flat at all, cant even use...I would not expect top quality in a rental but this might as well of not even been there, just taking up space.
2) There was no indoor Jacuzzi tub as advertised.
3) Flat screens and DVD players were not in every bedroom as advertised
4) Deck had several nails sticking out. My 3 year old stubbed his to it is black and blue...this is something that needs fixed ASAP.
5) While property was clean, there were several bugs...ants, flies, and I also noted a couple roaches. This is part of the climate and to some extent unavoidable but it was more than I expected.

We'd stay again!

The house was as advertised and we would stay again. It met the needs of our family vacation that included 6 kids between ages 1 and 8. The kiddie pool was perfect, but a few of the deck recliners were cracked. The house was clean and well-maintained, other than a some ants on the upper level. Kitchens pans were great, but we could have used some more kitchen and grill utensils. A couple of other minor things: freezer pops open with the fridge closing so we had some freezer burn issues. Grill propane tank was empty upon arrival. WiFi was good with some connection loss, and tv in main room is old. We did have some issues with the outside doors and getting locked out so a keypad would have been phenomenal. A few of the stair boards leading to the beach need replaced and lots of nails popped on the deck, but fantastic location! We would absolutely stay again!

My family rented for a week but I was there only 4 days. Initially, there were some minor issues and they were addressed immediately. Nice house which housed 14 age 9-60 and 2 babies. Pictures are accurate also.

Breath taken, beautiful, very tranquil.

This was the 2nd year out of 13 years, that we did not take our motorcycle down for the OBX bike week. We decided this year to just relax, and get out and enjoy the sites, shopping, and great food. This year my oldest brother and sister in law stayed. They really needed this little trip to unwind. This home really lives up to it name, "tranquility." I would like to say a big thank you to the property management and the owner. I will not rent from any other rental company, except Beach Realty of NC Inc. This home has plenty of room and everything a family could/or needs for the greatest stay ever. This home is just like being in your own home, but with the beach at you door.

Wonderful Thanksgiving!

This beautiful vacation home was even better than it looked online! The ocean view out the back doors was awesome! We cooked our Thanksgiving dinner for 11 people in the reasonably well-equipped kitchen (the hand mixer didn't work, and the silverware was a bit skimpy - just enough spoons for the group if we made sure they were all washed.) There was plenty of room in the dining area and the sitting area for our group, and the many bedrooms and baths were convenient. We enjoyed walking on the beach in the moonlight, flying kite, surfing (pretty cold!), and exploring Jennette's Pier.
The key was not in the dropbox when we arrived, but the agency responded promptly, then made another trip to the cabin that evening to bring us linens that were supposed to be there and weren't. So they weren't perfect, but were friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this property!
