We rented this home in September for the first time. It was our 6th family trip to OBX. The location to the beach was awesome. The furniture and beds we used were comfortable and the living space was very homey. Loved that this home has 2 refrigerators and 2 dishwashers, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The elevator was a huge help and overall we were happy with the house. The listing says 2 outdoor showers but there's just 1 shower head by the pool and it's not enclosed. There were things that needed attention ASAP which Beach Realty fixed. However, there's a lot of maintenance that needs to be done here from general wear and tear that would need to be done before we rented this home again. The negative's are that there is no covered area to leave all your beach gear and there were no lounge chairs in the pool area.

The house accomodates 20 comfortably. However, there are many repairs that need attention. The furniture is broken, the railings on steps outside are broken, the shower doors in the bathrooms are loose and broken. The broken and loose shower doors are very dangerous for many. I think this house needs some attention from contractors.

Perfect for our family vacation!

The house was spacious, included all cooking necessities (and more), and we loved how close it was to the public beach access. It was almost as if we were beachfront...we could see the sunrise from both decks. The pool and kiddie pool were an absolute hit!

Great place for our family vacation. The location was awesome, large pool was refreshing. Huge kitchen and great room. Like most beach houses during the summer, there were a few items in need of repair.We contacted the rental office, they were responsive. Bunk beds and mattresses on some of the beds were not comfortable. Electronic games did not work. But overall, a really great beach house.

Overall the home was in good condition. We had plenty of space for our family. I would recommend having the basic necessities provided. We had to purchase dish cloths and towels. Some of the bathrooms did not include a single roll of toilet paper to use until we had time to go to the store. A few things were broken downstairs, like the game systems. I had to clean my shower before using because of unknown hair and build up on the walls. The hot tub and pool area was great. And the kitchen has most of what you need to cook. Overall we had a great vacation but next time we may consider

We had a great stay overall. The house could use a good cleaning from top to bottom inside and out. The property is showing it's age and ready for some upgrades. A number of the dishes were dirty but that was not the fault of the rental agency but previous guests.

Our check in process was seamless. The house could have used some additional picking up, particularly outside where previous guests had used a huge ceramic flower pot as a trash can which was not emptied prior to our arrival. I reported this on our first day as it was too heavy for us to empty without being concerned about damaging it. Unfortunately, by the end of our stay it was not addressed. There was also broken chairs shoved under the house, a broken tent frame and other trash outside the house. I also understand it was the end of the busy season, so turnover is key and these items will likely be taken care of when the cleaning crew or owners have the opportunity to decompress and assess. The text messaging service works very well & Beach Realty is very responsive in returning messages though.

The house was nice. A few things didn’t work. A couple more large pans would have been nice but we got everything done. I was a little disappointed that both of the video games didn’t work. The pictures we saw of the house had a pool table and a pirate ship play set. We had 8 grandkids with us and the play set not being there was a little disappointing. There was a shuffleboard table instead of the pool table. The things I reported to management were addressed very quickly. The location was great, close to access to the beach. The deck was a little shaky but very nice at night.

The owner is aware of the damage from an early season storm and I am happy to report the owner is having the entire house resided in just a couple of weeks. Te owners would have had it done sooner but with the season in full swing it would be impossible to replace all the siding on the house with guests in as this would be hugely disruptive. We hope you would reconsider booking Lost Shaker of Salt again so you can see first hand how responsive the owner is and willing to make improvements as they are needed.

Brought a group of friends for a week of fishing. The fishing and weather were great. The house is a good place to stay; plenty of rooms, bathrooms, and an elevator for our older guests. Did not use the the pool or hot tub. There were a few minor issues (lights out in elevator, a shower head that wouldn't budge) that were taken care of quickly and in a friendly manner. The exterior of the house is aging and in need of repair - gates that aren't hung, pieces of wood falling off, fading paint but the interior is comfortable.

The outside space is great. Inside space needs some work.

We had a great time outside at this rental. The pool, kiddie pool and hot tub were in good condition and enjoyed by the multiple generations who stayed with us. The location was great - a short walk to the beach and away from a lot of traffic. The major overall issue is that this house was not clean. We found dirty socks under beds, dead bugs in the middle of bathroom floors, and obvious dust buildup along most of the wall hangings in the house. Several kitchen items had obviously just been tossed in the cabinets without cleaning. Brooms and dustpans were left sitting out in the middle of the hallway and they had not been used on the top floor. To top it off, when we arrived just after 4 pm on Saturday, we were told by departing cleaning staff not to go in the house until it had been cleared by a supervisor. We waited 40 minutes in the driveway without anyone showing up, then called to see if we could get a time estimate when we would be allowed in the house and were told that the house had already been cleared and we could go in. We had a good experience with Dan, who came to fix the door lock on Sunday morning and solved a few other minor issues. This is not our first beach house rental experience, but it is our first with this company. I do not think we will be back.

This house and management company are FANTASTIC ! There were a couple of issues due to weather/environment that I thought might be a safety issue for the smaller kids. I called the realtors and they had the issues fixed very quickly. The house came with virtually everything you could want, I would not hesitate to recommend this property/realtors to anyone interested in an incredible vacation.
