Great House!
We had a great vacation even though we were afraid we might have to evacuate due to hurricane Erin. Beach Realty assured us they would let us know if we had to go. We were a short walk to the beach but the hurricane kept us from the ocean. We had many sunny warm days and enjoyed swimming in the pool and relaxing in the hot tub. Our fur babies loved running free in the enclosed back yard. We had hoped to come back in 2026 but couldn't make it work. Definitely a great vacation house!

Love Happy Dog Days!
We've been coming to OBX for 15 years, and this is the first house we've stayed in 2 years in a row. Love all the dog-friendly touches, and the paw shaped pool is super fun. Have to change our timing next year so can't return for year 3, but we'll miss it!

Our family enjoyed our stay at Happy Dog Days from the moment we pulled into the driveway. The elevator was a plus for my disabled father and great for assisting with getting groceries and luggage to the top floor. The home was very clean, but we did immediately realized that the rug on the second floor hallway had an odor, so we rolled it up and left it on the covered porch during our stay and did not notice an odor again. Can’t wait ‘til next year!
What a great week! We’ve been coming to OBX every summer for the last 14 years with our dogs, and this house was hands down our favorite. Our dogs really enjoyed the fenced in grass, the walk to the beach was easy, and the house had everything we could want. We’ve already booked for next year, and can’t wait to come back.

Such a great house!!!
Happy Dog Days was a fantastic house for us. And by saying pet friendly, this owner really meant it. So many details - from the biggest water bowl ever - to the enclosed grassy yard and a pool - plenty of hoses to clean up the doggies - it was great for all the family!!! We will be back and vote 5 stars for everything

Happy Dog Day Vacation
Our visit was very nice. The house was fairly clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the location of the beach house as it was located very close to many places we wanted to see and shop. The beach access was great!
Our furry companions enjoyed the property too.
I think the elevator was a fantastic way to fully access the different levels especially for some of our elderly family.
Kitchen was great..pool and hot tub were thoroughly enjoyed.

Perfect winter beach trip
The house met all of our familys needs. The elevator allowed for older generations to attend. Our dog was able to go with us on the trip and renting Happy Dog Days made that possible. Communication with the realty company during our stay was easy and effective. The location of the house was convenient to north and south Outer Banks beaches and parks.

Super cute house with an easy walk to the beach
We truly enjoyed this house. Its perfect for a larger family. The pool was lovely. Having the fenced in backyard was a luxury for a beach vacation with your dogs. The house is close to so many things, restaurants, ice cream and grocery stores. Most of all close to the beach! A quick walk across the street to the public access with parking (we didnt use it) and there were not any steps to reach the beach!! A huge plus with several little kids in tow. One downside is that area of the beach has the storm drain

Nice place!
Perfect for what we were looking for in a vacation. Beach access right across the road. Pool and hot tub serviced three times during a week so very consistent.Landscape is beautiful but causes debris in pool when high winds come through. We like it here.

Took Finn on a adventure.
Had a great time at a very dog friendly rental. Perfect location and great stuff around you. Lucky 12 is a great pub down the street and you are 8 minutes from the golf course. Bonus we had a St. Patricks Day parade directly infront of us on Sunday! ☘️

A different type of vacation
We loved this house. This is the first time that we came down in the offseason fully understanding that this was not going to be a beach trip. This was a getaway for my wife's birthday with friends to just relax. This house was perfect for our needs. We got spoiled by the elevator and have said that any rental we do going forward will have to have an elevator.

Awesome Home
My Family and I had the greatest time staying in this home. It was perfect for our dogs. Centrally located on the island so seeing sites in either north or south was so easy. Only a walk across street to beautiful beach. Great fenced area for the doggies to run and do their business. I highly recommend this home. Super Family Stay
The house lived up to its description and pics. Pros: Kitchen was well stocked, AC worked like a charm, elevator was a big help, downstairs fridge came in handy, bedrooms allowed for privacy.
Cons: TV sound system not easy to figure out, lighting upstairs was oddly very dim at night, limited seating on the decks and towel service shorted us on towels but that not the owners fault!

Happy Dogs Day, great location, very convenient set up.
We love the pool. Noted they added hoses to the middle and top deck. The fenced yard works well for our vacation. We've stayed here every summer for a week since 2017. Some of the furniture is getting a little worn, but that is to be expected. Everything takes a beating at the beach.

We did arrive before housecleaning came but we were outside. We timed them=40 minute cleaning job for a 5 bedroom, 4.5 bath house. I don't think that is a thorough cleaning during a pandemic.

Pawsitively Awesome!!
Great place for both 2 legged and 4 legged family members! Comfortable beds, great pool to enjoy the warmer days. The dogs loved the play area which was very convenient and safe to avoid escaping. Despite the cold weather we still really loved our getaway. May need to update a few pieces of furniture but other than that there where no major issues and we will definitely make a trip back in the future.

Comfortable stay for people and pups
First time staying in Nags Head and found the location to be perfect as it was centrally located and right across from beach access. Lord the dog friendly features, especially the fenced in yard.
While everything was topically clean, coming at the end of season does mean you will have more wear. Property is maintained regularly as could be seen by lawn and pool care professionals.
Note: WiFi is not high speed and made working from the property very difficult. Fine for basic intern

Happy Dog Days for a lazy, restful getaway
This was the first time we stayed here but definitely will not be our last. My entire familys consensus was this was the most ;comfortable; feeling vacation home where we have stayed. Pool, hot tub, family, dogs and ocean across the street what more can you ask for. All the comforts of home. Did need to have the hot tub fixed, however repair was made in less than 24 hours. House could use a new dishwasher and a 3rd floor mattress for master bedroom, but these things wont stop us from coming back. See you Ha

Love it!
This was our 3rd year staying in the cottage. I enjoy the pool and easy access to the beach. The dogs enjoy the space. Beach Realty responded very quickly when I requested the pool to be cleaned.

Great location, great for the dogs, okay for the humans
When renting this property you are paying for the location and pet friendly features including the hard to find fenced in grass yard. Those two features were great. The property management firm was also great: communication, responsiveness, etc. While we were there we saw folks from the independent cleaning company, housekeeping supervisor, cable company, pool service and sprinkler repair so the property is clearly being managed. The space is laid out described and it has seen better days as also described

Another wonderful stay at Happy Dog Days!
This was our second stay at this property. It was as wonderful as I remember. The house is clean and comfy. This place is a must stay for those traveling with their pups. The fenced in yard is great for the dogs to play and enjoy their time at the beach. Very close to a public beach access point and many restaurants and stores in the vicinity.
Just a few things we noticed: The dishwasher silverware basket needs replaced due to holes causing the silverware to fall through, the electric can opener did not work and there was no manual one, and the pooper scooper in the yard was broken. Other than that, this is a great home to rent. We loved our vacation and the time we spent at this house.

Love this house!!!
We had yet another great stay in this house. The yard is beyond compare if you have dogs. Somehow they have kept the horrible burrs out of their grass. We had two weeks of beautiful weather, only rain one night (part of hurricane Michael). This house is great, good bed situation.
Only issue is the dishwasher needs new bottom rack.

Loved it!!
We really enjoyed the cottage and the pool. Our dogs were very comfortable and enjoyed having the play area. The kitchen had plenty of pots and pans for cooking. It was nice having the two refrigerators as well. My mother has a bad knee and the elevator worked out very well for her. I have no complaints. We had plenty of towels and the public access to the beach was right across the street. We will most likely like to rent again, but unsure when next year.

Pawsitivly Amazing!
This house was truly amazing. The house was very clean. Beds were super comfy. Home decor was super cute. Pool was a hit with the kids (young & old). I honestly felt at home in this house. Most rentals do not have that homey feel, but this house did for your family. Beach is steps away which was very convenient.

Happy Dog Days 1112
We decided at the last minute to visit the outer banks for our vacation. What a great decision. We could not have been happier with the house, pool, and location. My grandchildren thought the dog theme throughout was fantastic.
The house was very clean and the kitchen was nicely stocked.
Our entire family is looking forward to booking the same house for 2018.
The property management company was great to work with as well!

Paws-ativly Perfect
Happy Dog Days is a wonderful beach house. It's location is perfect - near the pier, the ocean, shops, and in the nicest part of Nags Head. The house is decorated and furnished beautifully. It was sparkling clean when we arrived, and maintenance responded quickly to minor issues (eg. Light bulb replacement, fixed a fence latch), even coming on a Sunday when minor repairs are generally held until the next weekday. It was hands down the best vacation we've ever taken, and we will definitely be booking Happy Dogs Days again.

A dog lovers dream!!!
Beautiful home with all the amenities that a person could ask for. Loved the hot tub, but we really wished the pool had of been warm enough to get in. It was supposed to be heated but the weather was so cold that if it was, you definitely could not tell. Other than that, it was a very nice relaxing week! My kids loved going through the house looking at all of the dog pictures and decorations. All in all, just what we needed!!! Thanks!!

One Happy Dog
My wonderful owner rented a Beach house just for me No more staying in a strange place with no couch, strange people walking and feeding me. It was wonderful, a huge backyard for me run and do my business in. There was even my own plastic pool just like their pool. That is what I call a real dogs life.

Doggie paradise
7 adults, 5 children, and 5 dogs stayed at Happy Dog Days and loved every minute of it. The house was clean and had enough space for all of us to spread out. The separate dog area was great - and so was the paw-shaped pool! Only complaint was the lack of kitchen necessities - salt/pepper, paper/aluminum foil products, etc. It was not as well-stocked as some of the other properties in which we have stayed in the past.

Thank you so much for your review of our property "Happy Dog Days." We appreciate your feedback. All of our properties start the season meeting or exceeding the standards set by our company. In saying that, there is a required items list that is checked prior to the season starting. Before the house is available for rent, the list must be checked off in it's entirety. Unfortunately, guests sometimes remove these items during their stay. I am sorry you were missing some necessities and had you called, I would have made sure that you received these items immediately. None of our homes have salt/pepper, paper products or aluminum foil in them prior to guest arrival. For hygiene and sanitary reasons, we do not provide these things and try hard to make sure that is clear in the prearrival information. We thank you again for your feedback and hope that we see you next year!

I also just have to add another plug for the company in that they definitely have a good system down for not just looking after the place - but especially for the set up. Most places just email once and this is all you get. They were incredible about following up and sent us plenty of communication not before and after. Ok now on to the review..

Spring family vacation 2016
This was a great vacation house . The fenced in yard for the fur babies was really nice . Location was perfect , right between Austin seafood and I said pier. Heated pool and hot tub were very nice. I called the rental company with a couple of concerns and they were taken care of immediately. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this house to friends. Only thing I would add more lighting in the house in the kitchen and living room, and the bottom level.

Great time at the beach!!!
We stayed a week in March at Happy Dog Days. We were so happy to find a rental house that welcomed our furry friends. Everything was clean and well maintained. Plenty of room to spread out. Loved the fenced in yard for the dogs. Very close to beach access and there were many restaurants and shops nearby. Couldn't have asked for a better place for vacation. We loved every minute of it! Would definately stay at this property again.

What a perfect "babymoon" with our dogs!
Such an amazing vacation rental. We absolutely loved our stay. The locals were so friendly and the food was amazing and fresh. We took this opportunity to spoil our dogs with their first beach vacation before their new baby brother arrives. It was a dream come true.

October stay - first time in the fall
First time staying in the fall. It was nice to have a fireplace that we got to enjoy. Pool tempature was like bath water towards the middle to end of the week - although first couple of days it was real cold. Only issue was with we blew a breaker in the house and mainteance kept on saying that the breaker box was in the house and it wasn't - I told the maintenance crew to make sure the main office knows the location when/if it happens again in the future. Only suggestion that we have is to have instruct

Doggone Perfect!
We were beyond surprised and extremely happy with our vacation rental this year. I will admit I was very nervous only because of some of the reviews I've read and I had my 83 yr old mom coming with us along with our fury friends. I was afraid there would be an odor of previous dogs and possibly not as clean as we would like. COMPLETELY not the case though. Beautifully decorated and very well cleaned upon arrival. The pool area was great and the fenced in dog area was spotless. Would totally recommend to any

house was great easy walk to beach. Great to have elevator. only bad thing was there was a very bad smell when we first came in on the ground floor. Smelled funny the whole time but we never really stayed on the ground floor. rooms nice size,clean with tv in each room. would definitely come back.

Happy Dog Days and then some
Had a wonderful, relaxing time in this house. The only issues we had were the fencing. When we arrived a board was missing from the fenced back yard. The pool guy next door thankfully fixed it but the gate itself fell apart. The aging of the fencing is showing in several places along with some of the slats on the porches.The tenanants before us failed to empty the doggie pick up bucket (not pleasant). Other than that we found the house in relatively good shape.

The house was as clean as you could expect a beach house to be. All the features listed in the property description were present. The heated pool was a great alternative to the ocean, especially with young children. The backyard was well secure for our dog and the elevator is an added bonus.

Amazing home!
We just got back from a wonderful week spent at this awesome home! The layout and design is perfect for a large family. There are plenty of places to he together and play games or get away and have solitude. All of the thoughtful features for our furry friends were a blessing. The fenced in backyard was perfect for the dogs (no stickers in feet). We played countless hours of volleyball and corn hole with our teenagers every night while the dogs hung out with us. Lazy Dog Days at the Beach
It was a great vacation. The close proximity to the beach access made it easy to walk on the beach every morning. I saw some beautiful sunrises. I wish I could wake up to that everyday. The rental experience was ok. The key was not ready until exactly 4:00pm. We also had called about the pool being heated. On day 3 it finally was. After three phone calls about it.
