Beach Get Away

The FunTiki was the perfect size for a family of 12. The bedrooms were comfortable for adults and children.The swimming pool was an added bonus that lured the children off of the beach. The beach was in very easy access and the carts provided made beach gear transportation easy. The kitchen was well supplied with all the dishes and utensils needed for meal preparation. Having two dish washers really helped with after-meals clean up. Comfortable decks for quiet lounging.

Needs some upgrades

We had a lot of fun, and the house is ideally located. That being said, the house really needs. some upgrades to make the experience even better. The description of the house includes a screened in hot tub, but the lower screening is missing and the door is missing, giving bugs ample access to the area. Some of the TV's need to be in a museum.

Family trip at outer banks

Upon checking into Funtiki we found a very clean, organized house. The temperature inside the house was perfect. There was lots of entertainment with TVs in every room, a pool table, game machine, hot tub and a pool(which was closed because of the time of year). The kitchen upstairs was huge and was accommodating with lots of utensils, pots and pans, and dishes. C gf eco in was between 4-6. It was around 5:30 before we could get in after I called them. Earlier check in would be nice. Towels and sheets were provided but I was never told they would be in bags outside by the bottom floor so the first night we slept with no sheets until I called the next day. We just assumed those bags were dirty items left from the renters before. That would have been good to know in advance that they were leaving them there. Overall it was a wonderful stay, close to the beach access and restaurants and shopping. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend this house!

We had a great time. Kitchen was well stocked. Nice decor. We always do a fall vacation so we are used to alot of problems with rentals. But this one was really kept up. Only thing that could use some attention would be the tv's and washer is starting to rust. And dining room table needs more support in middle before it breaks.

Funtiki Review

We had a marvelous two weeks at Funtiki. My oldest daughter was married nearby and the home served as a base for family. It was enjoyed by all. My only wish was that the top deck had a screen door so that we could enjoy ocean breezes!

Fun at Funtiki

Funtiki is a great OBX family rental. We stayed for a week during the Christmas holidays and the rental had everything we needed for a large family with pets. The hot tub is a nice treat and there were plenty of games and puzzles on hand. The beach is a short walk across the street. I would give it 5 stars because it is so reasonably priced, but some of the bathrooms need minor repairs (caulk, paint, etc..). This is our second year staying at Funtiki and we'll definitely be back.

OBX in November

House was huge. We brought our dog, which love it as well. House was very clean, could use a little updating but overall exactly as shown. We contacted rental place about a mini icemaker which needed defrosted and they responded immediately. Hot tub was great. We went in November so cannot comment on the pool. It was right across from the ocean and you could see it from the front room. You could bring multiple families in there and still have privacy or gather together on bottom or top floor. Would definitely recommend. Price was great especially for this large of a house. Right in the middle of OBX so easy access to pretty much anywhere. We drove up to Corolla and down to Hatteras for day trips. Also, lots of puzzles, books game and things for a rainy day. Kitchen was well equipped and we had pretty much everything we needed. We got texts on day before garbage days which was helpful and had access to house at time we were told.

Great time with friends

Our trip included 5 families with 7 kids total. The layout of the house was great. The pool was perfect size. The hot tub was nice but needed a higher ceiling. It felt like you were in a hole but screened is was great because the mosquitoes were horrible. The house was in need of minor repairs. Unbalanced ceiling fans, loose outlets, pool table and que stick were in poor shape. Mattress toppers were in need of replacement as well as several toilet seats and shower curtains.

Christmas Getaway

Perfect spot for a large family getaway with pets. I loved that almost every bedroom had its own bath. Large spacious living area was perfect for socializing. The pool table was a hit.
Pots and pans need to be updated.

Perfect for a large group!

Great layout with lots of space! Awesome location! Overall, house was very clean. A few things need attention. Curtains could use a cleaning and kitchen cabinets and drawers could use some cleaning inside. One of the dishwashers wouldn’t drain and kind of smelled so we couldn’t use it, but the other one worked ok. We had a large group for Thanksgiving and loved the large kitchen table! Property managers were great to work with!

Overall it was a wonderful stay. The location is amazing but a few small details would have put it over the top. The beds were not very comfortable, it wasn’t the cleanest when we got there (some mold in mid level bathroom and back of shower curtains), and it’s definitely a little dated. A few of the TVs volume didn’t even work and the picture was subpar (very old TVs). But the space was great, the pool was amazing, loved the decks that are all the way around the house, and it suited every need that our family had. I would totally recommend it to someone else, just think a few minor details and upgrades would make it more enjoyable for the price.

Funtiki fun

This house is amazing. Spacious and clean. The beds and furniture were very comfortable. The location was great with just a short walk to the beach. The pool and air conditioning were lifesavers with daytime temps reaching into the 90’s. The only negatives were that the grill was too small for grilling for 15 occupants and the kitchen was poorly stocked with cooking utensils, silverware and serving utensils (namely large and small spoons). Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay here and would gladly choose this property again.

Put the Fun in Funtiki

Amazing week at Funtiki

We are a group of adults who consider ourselves a friend family who sadly don't see each other as much as we would like as we have gotten older, people have moved, children have come into our lives and we try to spend a week each year together catching up, relaxing and spending time together. This year we settled on the Funtiki and it was absolutely perfect for our needs. The pool was great for afternoons when we didn't want to haul everything to the beach. We were walking distance of beach access, Fishheads (our groups favorite pier), close to grocery stores so getting stocked up for the week was a breeze. There was plenty of parking for all of the cars and a few porches to choose from to sit together during the evenings. The only negative, was there wasn't a lot of outside furniture and the pieces that were there weren't in the best condition, but we understood it was end of the season and once we reported the items, Beach Realty came and took the broken pieces away within hours. Perfect rental for a big group, lots of space and fantastic location.

Best location we ever stayed at in Outer Banks

Vacation Home was located at a perfect spot. Short distance walking to beach access. Pictures of top deck, showed many chairs, we had 1 good one and one broken one. Was advertised with basketball hoop, we had none. Pool and hot tub were great, location of outdoor grill was great. Loved having extra refrigerator on the bottom floor. Plenty of bathrooms, at great locations. Great location for shopping and mini golf and restaurants. Enjoyed the walking and bike bath across the street. Overall great vacation and beach house. Would definitely revisit.

Awesome Vacation Home

This was one of the best decisions I made to celebrate my birthday in Nags Hea. It was a fun filled weekend with all adults and the house was perfect. The only thing that I would suggest is to have more towels, wash cloths, and tissue being that the house sleeps so many people. Everything else was awesome and we can’t wait to return. It was like we had the beach to ourselves! Loved it!!

Liked South Nags Head and having sheets on the bed and towels available. I know this was early in the vaycation season but many screens were laying on porch. Seems outside maintenance could have been better. Found a couple of plumbing leaks which were reported at checkout.

Nice Cabin. Nice location. Nice cost.

The cottage is very nice and in good condition. Living room - dining room - Kitchen have a lot of space. The location is excellent except for beach access which is not difficult to find. It was a reasonable price for a property this large, this close to the beach and located in what we consider the nicest in area in the Outer Banks.

Vacation Stay at 1022 Funtiki

The house was very clean. The location is good however, our family generally prefers to be at mile post 19 or even farther down the beach. Overall the house accommodated our needs. The beds were made when we arrived. The linen service never picked up the sheets and towels from the previous week so the boxes were kind of in the way. My only criticism of the house is the kitchen; coffee pots need replaced (brew very slowly). Pans were non-stick but need replaced. It also lacked utensils such as measuring cups, it had metal spatulas vice rubber or plastic, (probably why the pans need replaced), no wick, or no serving spoons. We did make do with what was available. Again, overall we enjoyed our stay in the house and I would recommend it to a friend or relative.

floor plan and location were great. rooms were good size. comforters and pillows were worn. living room furniture was old and worn. doors needed cleaning or painted around knobs. kitchen table was awesome. 2 dishwashers and refrigerators were excellent.
