Come vacation with us for short stays or extended stays! Week days are an opportune time to visit the Outer Banks and avoid the weekend traffic.

We can't wait to come back!

We fully enjoyed the time we spent in The Cottonwood last week. We have been visiting the Outer Banks for years, and Chili Peppers is one of our favorite haunts, it’s just across the street! This cottage was just perfect for our small family. We could stroll over for some food and drinks at our leisure. A short three-block walk through the neighborhood to Hayman Beach access was our daily ritual. We brought our bikes and rode to Avalon Pier a couple of nights and enjoyed some live music and sitting in their new upper bar, the Stonefish. We can’t wait to return and stay again, this has become our favorite OBX rental!

Very Clean and Cozy

Very quaint and cozy property. When we first walked in it smelled clean and wonderful. Perfectly sized for our family with great upgraded amenities. Walking distance to the beach and restaurants, matter of fact there is a restaurant literally across the street. Even though the restaurant was close, we never had any issues with noise levels nor rowdiness from it.

Only negatives we had were that the sprinklers were on around 5pm when we arrived and daily, which meant that the area was wet and we weren't able to use the wonderful hammock during that time. There also weren't really any comfortable seating on the upstairs deck. There is a huge picnic table which is too big for the area and not very comfortable to sit at while trying to enjoy the wonderful and huge deck space.

Loved our stay in KDH!

The Cottonwood was small but comfortable and newly renovated - perfect for our group of four (2 couples). Rode bikes to Avalon Pier for happy hour and walked next door to Chili Peppers for apps and cocktails a few evenings. Fresh vegetable market and coffee shop a block away. We played cornhole in the yard and enjoyed the privacy. Realty company made everything smooth and stress free. We'll be back for a long weekend when we can get there!

Love this House

This was our first time visiting the Outer Banks. We loved being in Kill Devil Hills. So much history, and it’s centrally located so we could explore the other towns. While we loved visiting Duck up north, and Corolla (we even went on a Wild Horse Tour!...wow!) we are definitely coming back to Cottonwood. Next time we will plan some southward trips, and likely take in some more sightseeing. Love the lighthouses and we ran out of time in our week to hit all of the great restaurants. One is right out the front door and a great option!
