Spacious decks surrounding the home are excellent places to enjoy the ocean views, feel the sun on your skin, dine ‘al fresco’, or nap in the shade listening to the ocean. This home also has a sun-drenched Rooftop deck over a screened porch adjacent to the kitchen. Each main bedroom has direct deck access and smart TVs /DVDs. With two spacious outdoor showers, the family can rinse off sand and salt leaving everyone refreshed for the evening.

2nd stay at this property

It was great for a group. We had 10 people, and never felt like we were on top of each other. Beach access was very close, and the beach wasn't overly crowded. We had a great time.
There is only one road in and out, so sometimes it took a bit of time to go places.

BJ, we are very glad your family was able to get comfortable at Bella Mare! The phrase "on island time" is definitely reflected for our Duck and Corolla areas. With only one way in and one way out, sometimes it does take some planning to get to dinner on time or to your scheduled horse tours, etc.. We hope to see you soon!

Another Great Week at Bella Mare

Ideal for families with school-age children:first floor recreation area, basketball hoop/volleyball outside, well-designed floor plan with extra bathrooms. The screened porch and views/outdoor access are great!Carpet on top floor could use updating, but overall a wonderful family spot.

Honest Opinion

So I would like to be completely honest and accurate in my review. The location of this property could not have been better, we could sit on the deck and easily see the ocean, and could go back and forth from the house to the beach with ease. My family also had an amazing time! The layout of the house was perfect for us, the house was clean and the rental company was wonderful. The house itself is in terrible shape and needs some serious attention and updating! We didn't use the small screened in porch area at all do to the condition and shape the furniture was in. The outside lights did not work to play volleyball when the sun went down. There was a spot in the upstairs bedroom floor that my husband said he felt like he was going to fall through. There were so many things that needed to be fixed in that house. If you are strictly looking for a great location and price, then this is it!

Wonderful Vacation home on the Outer Banks

We had a great stay with our family. The house was spacious and well equipped. It was just a short walk to the beach and a reasonable drive to Duck and other locations. The multiple levels of decks were very nice and the game room with pool table a nice bonus, particularly for our teenagers.

Bella Mare - week of SUN Aug 29th

Everything was great. The realty agency was very communicative and readily answered the one clarifying question we had on the eve of vacation. Bella Mare is all about the location-- you cannot beat it...50 yards from the beach, 2 miles from Duck! The house was comfortable and fun (the kids loved the pool table). Bella Mare allowed us to have a perfect beach vacation.

Great location, Wonderful time, Property with lots of potential.

Had a wonderful time the last week of May, and the location is hard to beat. The home could really use some updates and repairs to make it a fully unbeatable experience: cracks in the ceiling, fallen out lighting fixtures, nail/screw heads poking through the carpet, ancient kitchen, broken tracks in shower doors, etc. - all could use some freshening up from their 80's look, feel, and function. Rental management company is absolutely joy to work with and very responsive. Cleaning crew did a good job before our arrival. Would probably consider staying again if there were no other, more updated options around.
