4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS CELEBRATIONS

Traveling to the Outer Banks for the 4th of July? You'll find the best fireworks spectacles and other Fourth of July events below. Come early with a blanket to get a good spot! There are several fireworks displays to choose from this year.  Depending on where you are vacationing, you can choose the venue that is closest to you!

Manteo, NC - Roanoke Festival Park

July 4, 2024 9:30 PM 

The Town of Manteo will host an incredible display of fireworks over the Roanoke Sound and Shallowbag Bay, visitors can find a spot along the downtown docks or a seat at the famed Roanoke Island Festival Park to catch an incredible show with a stunning backdrop. If you want to enjoy the fireworks in a unique way and you have access to a boat, here is a clip of the Roanoke Island Fireworks from the Sound!

The annual fireworks display is provided by the Town of Manteo, and the event is free and open to the public. Parking is available throughout the town on a first-come, first-serve basis, and handicapped spaces are available as well - (until filled, and proper permit is required.) The public is welcome to bring chairs, blankets, and tarps to find a seat at Roanoke Island Festival Park, and in the hours leading up to the display, are invited to explore the heart of Manteo, which will be decked out for the festivities.

Manteo - Roanoke Island Fireworks

KILL DEVIL HILLS - AVALON PIER

July 4th, 2024 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM 

Visitors can keep the Independence Day celebration going strong with this special fireworks display in the heart of the central Outer Banks that’s sponsored by the Town of Kill Devil Hills, and which is held at the scenic Avalon Pier.

The Avalon Pier is located at milepost 7, and while visitors won’t be able to watch the show from the pier itself, the wide and surrounding beaches are ideal for pulling up a chair and enjoying the show. The public is welcome to bring a chair, blanket, or beach towel and find a spot, and should note that parking may be limited, so an early arrival may be key. A rain date will be set in case of inclement weather, and town parking is free to the public, with multiple beach access points throughout the town, and walking-distance close to the oceanfront. (Visitors will want to arrive early to secure a spot.) Nags Head - Nags Head Fishing Pier Mile Post 11.5

July 4th, 2024 9:25 pm - 10:00 pm 

Head to the heart of Nags Head for this special 4th of July fireworks display over the Atlantic Ocean that will leave all beach-goers breathless.  The town of Nags Head Fireworks Spectacular is sure to be a show-stopping aspect of any Outer Banks Vacation.

RULES & REGULATIONS

North Carolina prohibits the possession of any pyrotechnics which launch or propels into the air, or which explode making a sound or "report." Sparklers, fountains and ground displays are allowed only with adult supervision and when exercising extreme caution and fire prevention. Fireworks are illegal in Dare County, including all towns and villages.

Parking at and near the fireworks display sites will be directed by police. All persons attending this event are reminded not to use or block private driveways. Vehicles blocking driveways or presenting a traffic hazard before, during, or immediately following this event will be towed. Please use the public beach accesses as pathways to the oceanfront. Please stay off the environmentally sensitive dune and do not use the private property of others, such as private gazebos or decks, to view the fireworks without the property owner’s permission. 

No vehicles, with the exception of authorized Town and emergency vehicles, will be allowed on the oceanfront beaches.
