PROMISE:  WHEN YOU INVITE ME INTO YOUR LIFE, YOU ARE ENTRUSTING SO MUCH TO ME, THAT IS NOT SOMETHING I TAKE LIGHTLY. I PROMISE TO CONNECT WITH YOU, TO CREATE YOUR INNER BEAUTY THROUGH MY LENS, AND TO TO GIVE YOU AN EXPERIENCE WITH VIDEOS AND PHOTOGRAPHS YOU WON’T EVER FORGET. – JULIE

Julie Dreelin went to school at the University of New Hampshire for a degree in Arts and Science from the prestigious Whittemore School of Business.  She also has a computer and website design degree from Old Dominion University.  She started her carrer in public relations at The Four Seasons Resort,  and The Ritz Carlton in Boston, MA.  Her love of journalism and photography drew her to additional schooling in Florence Italy where she fell in love with Art.

Then Colorado happened.  Julie wanted to learn to snowboard more than anything on the planet.  She did what she set out to do, and became a professional snowboarder.  She ran TEAM BRECK, an inspirational snowboarding program to prepare children the ages of 5-12 for professional snowboarding and terrain park riding.  After a few years, Julie’s love of Art and the “real world” called her back. She transitioned to a position as head photographer, videographer, and director for Breckenridge, CO’s largest TV station, THE RESORT SPORTS NETWORK.  She had no prior experience with video, but they gave her a chance and she ran with it, soon working up to the head director and editor of the stations popular morning show.  She was the lead and director on many additional shows with the station.

Julie has always had a huge love of  nature and the outdoors.  She wanted to experience summer-time mountain life, which she was not getting in the studios of Resort Sports Network.  She up and moved to Durango, CO to become a river guide, and compete in kayaking.  Her jobs were outdoor nature guide, ski mountain instructor, backcountry ski guide.   She also became an avid mountain biker, and telemarketing skier.  Although very satisfied with her new outdoor life, she felt like she had something big in front of her to live for in her carrer.

In search of her perfect carrer, and the love of Photography, Videography and Art still swelling in her, she took a break and moved to the Outer Banks one summer to learn how to surf.   It was here that she fell in love. The rest is history.  She fell into a job at Global Custom Publications for a year.  She soon realized that to be completely fulfilled, she would have to venture out on her own. That is where Julie Dreelins Beach Productions Photography and Videography was born in 1999.

Beach Productions started as a videography company doing corporate work and commercials. Her clients loved her Bohemian, Organic, Documentary style of videography so much, they started asking for photography very shortly after she started the company. This was a seamless add on to her company with Julie’s background at the University in Visual Arts and her technical experience with digital media.  Julie’s work has graced the cover of many National and local Magazine’s. Her company has brought her worldwide from New Zealand to Indonesia to Tahiti and back again for artistic, promotional and corporate commercial assignments.

She has grown roots here with her pilot husband, Eric, dog Barney, cat Wilber, and 2 year old son Fletcher.

JULIE SAYS, “SINCE THE PHOTOGRAPHY INDUSTRY HAS MOVED TO DIGITAL, I HAVE FOUND MYSELF AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE GAME.  A ONCE DUELING RIVALRY, PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEOGRAPHY WERE COMBINED INTO ONE.”

Julie travels yearly to a different foreign country for two to three months every year to develop her skills through seminars and experience ending in a yearly photography exhibit at the Beach Productions studios.  You can see her travel photos in the “life” section of this website.
