Nice Place to stay

The house is dated but not bad for a weeks stay. The Layout with the second bathroom outside is odd. We had plenty of parking for 2 cars and a minivan but there isnt much space considering the drive is shared with 4 other houses. The guest beside of us had about 6 vehicles so we actually had to back up the drive from the road. The dunes have taken over the steps to the beach so it does take some extra effort to get to and from the beach, probably not an issue unless someone has mobility issues. Management company was hard to get answers from. i asked questions over email for weeks without getting answers. Overall it was a nice get away.

Fall getaway

Beach Realty is great to work with and responsive to calls. The storm door latch came apart when we pulled it shut one day and we reported it. Within three days someone arrived to repair the latch and also repaired the latch for the gate to steps leading down to the outdoor shower. Renters need to be aware Breakers is an old Nags Head cottage-full of charm but lacking in modern touches common in houses these days. The inside bathroom is very small which would be a nightmare for a family of 10. Inside lighting is dim; there is no live TV only Roku streaming, and no radio. The living room furniture is on its last legs. My wife and I were the only guests and we appreciate charm so all this was not a problem, but it might be for a family. The location is great; necessary shopping and activities are ten minutes away.The house itself is best suited to a group of men who are in Nags Head for the fishing.

My family has used Beach Realty multiple times and have never had any problems. The house was small but, location, location, location is the word. Walking distance to Jockeys Ridge, Sooey's BBQ, & Kitty Hawk kites. Most everything else you need may 5 to 10 minutes away.
The house could use a few upgrade but was good for what we needed. The TV was upgraded to a smart tv which was nice on a rainy night. The house uses a shared drive with 3 other homes and parking gets tight if all 3 are rented, but we made it work.

The only complaint I have is that we were the first renters since the stay at home order, I received an email a week before check in saying that we should be able to check in around 1:00 because of that reason. We were not given the keys until after 4:00.

A Break Away at Breakers!

The weather was perfect! Our stay was restful...a much needed break from life's stressors. Breakers was "the" place to get away. We walked over to Jockey's Ridge to enjoy the sunset several evenings. The location was close to everything we wanted to do (which wasn't much) so we went to Wright Brothers, Manteo, a few shops, and walked the beach.

My family really enjoyed our week at the beach in this cottage. It is small but clean. Only double and twin beds but they were comfortable. We like the location. It is close to Jockey's Ridge where we climbed to see the sunset numerous times. Also within walking distance of a few casual restaurants and shopping areas. Small but beachy! Only one bathroom inside and one outside off the porch. We were a group of 6 adults and were comfortable. Also has an outside shower which is a plus,

This was my first vacation I planned. Everything went as planned. When we arrived, check in went smooth and the rental was clean. Everything worked in the house as it should. My kids enjoyed it and it was perfect for our first vacation. The location is perfect. Stores close by and beach at the back yard.

Wonderful property

We have rented this house for 5 years in a row and have had a very pleasant vacation each time. This year, the AC broke down and the management company had it repaired the same day. We enjoy what we call the 2 micro-climates on the front and back porches. A great place to watch beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Easy walk to a number of good food spots. We have already put in our reservation for next year.

The Breakers

We had a nice time. The house is small but decent and most of our time was spent outside. The access to the beach is great. You share a washer with the house in back and the washer probably needs to be replaces. Overall it was a good experience.

Giddens family vacation 2015
