Get ready for a pirate invasion on the Outer Banks, courtesy of the OBX Pirate Festival. This festival that will be held next to Jockey’s Ridge State Park in the central Outer Banks town of Nags Head promises plenty of swashbuckling good times and activities, and will be a memorable event for young and old salty visitors alike.
There’s lots to do and explore during the full day of pirate fun, and a full schedule of activities is on deck to keep family members of all ages entertained. The OBX Pirate Festival will feature a special Scallywag School for kids, (advanced registration is recommended), photo ops with local mermaids, a living history pirate encampment, and even a daily cannon fire demonstration. In addition, there will be plenty of historical talks, musket drills, and plenty of games and activities so visitors can learn all there is to know about these legendary Outer Banks residents. The event is free for everyone, and the public is welcome to join in the fun for a couple activities, or even for the full day-long event. With plenty of good times on the horizon, the OBX Pirate Festival is sure to be a favorite highlight of any OBX getaway.
