Whether you are gathering with the whole family, or having a corporate retreat, Beach Realty has plenty of accommodation options including homes in close proximity to one another and homes perfect for events.  After you have secured the accommodations, it's time to plan the agenda!  So here are some ideas on local activities that are perfect for bigger groups.

Team Work Makes the Dreamwork

Family bonding is important, work families included!  Adventure Parks are a great way to have fun with team building exercises!  There are two adventure parks on the island to choose from:

Corolla Adventure Park and  First Flight Adventure Park

Another choice is the ever popular Escape Room challenge as private groups team up and work together gathering clues to solve problems in a safe, fun, and challenging environment.  Southern Shores is centrally located and where you will find:

OB-Xscape Rooms®

Here are some more indoor entertainment options that are perfect for some good old fashion competitive fun:

Bowling Turfs Up Jumpmasters Trampoline Park

...and let's not forget Axe Throwing; Corolla Adventure Park and Jumpmasters both offer this popular activity for group bonding, and stress relief!

Just the Adults

For those 21 and older, why not enjoy some adult beverage sampling. Sanctuary Vineyards offers a broad range of wine tastings on their 30 acre Currituck vineyard.  For those staying in the Corolla or Duck area you can hop on the Private Vineyard Cruise that can take up to 18 passengers by boat from Duck across the sound.  Avoid the traffic and enjoy some time on the water!

For the beer lovers, Swells'a Brewing in Kill Devil Hills on Virginia Dare Trail (NC 12) will be happy to serve up some brew for tastings (they have wine too!).  Their focus is on brewing beer great beer, so feel free to bring your own grub.

Need a Ride? Set up a Private Pub Crawl with the OBX Party Bus and a group of 20 will have a fun way to get to the destinations of your choosing from Corolla down to Nags Head.

Appreciate Outer Banks History

Take the group out sightseeing.  There are three of the five Outer Banks lighthouses located in our stretch of the Outer Banks.  If staying up North, in Corolla, the Currituck Beach Lighthouse is located adjacent to the Historic Whalehead Club.  Consider a guided tour, perhaps the thrill of a ghost tour even for your group!

About an hour south, you will find the Bodie Island Lighthouse located in South Nags Head on Pea Island, and the Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse in Manteo on Roanoke Island.

Manteo is also home of the award winning Lost Colony outdoor live production which offers group discounts.

Another visitor hot spot is the historical site where motorized aviation was born!  The Wright Brothers Memorial and Museum is located in Kill Devil Hills. The monument sits atop Kill Devil Hill marking the spot where brother's Orville and Wilbur first took flight.  Visit the monument and take in views of the ocean and sound.  Walk along the path marking locations where they landed to the reconstructed camp buildings and museum.

Appreciate Nature

The main reason people choose to come to the Outer Banks! The natural beauty, surrounded by sound and ocean. There are endless ways to enjoy nature here as a group, whether it's al fresco dining, hiking, or adventures including the popular Corolla Wild Horse Tours, Kayak Tours, and Fishing Excursions and other water sports to name a few.

And of course there's the beach.  In order to make the most of your time, why not have an equipment rental company take care of your setup (and tear down) so you can enjoy more time with the group, simply enjoying time together. Ocean Atlantic Rentals has everything you need from cottage items, to bikes, kayaks, beach gear and golf carts.
If you made it down here without anyone in your group noticing the giant Water Park on the vehicles passenger side, then well, we don't know how that happened! H2OBX opened in 2017 and has become a noteworthy addition to the Outer Banks lineup of attractions.  Located in Powell's Point just 10 miles north of the Wright Memorial Bridge, it's hard to miss and makes for a nice addition to any vacation agenda.  Rent a cabana for the group and enjoy a day full of lazy river floating for those wanting to relax,  or impressive slides for those seeking a thrill.  Beach Realty guests recieve a discount in 2022 of $5 off admission tickets. Feed the Masses

A seafood buffet is always a hit and good way to feed large groups.  Two popular choices are  Jimmy's Seafood Buffet in Kitty Hawk and Captain George's in Kill Devil Hills.  If you would prefer to skip the crowds, and enjoy your own group in your vacation home, why not cater?  If you've never had Lowcountry Boil, then you need to give this popular southern dish a try! Firehouse Boil will deliver right to your home or venue.  It's perfect for casual dining and a must have when in the south!
