Poulos Family Christmas

Follow a couple of wooded roads to the heart of Kill Devil Hills to take in one of the most spectacular holiday light displays in coastal North Carolina.  Every year the Poulos family hosts a grand display at their Kill Devil Hills home. They have won a few television competition shows! It takes them 12 weeks to set up the display and costs roughly $3,500 in energy bills a year! You can catch the display from November 28th through December 31st.

Manteo Christmas Tree Lighting

Head to downtown Manteo on December 6th for the annual Christmas tree lighting. This takes place near the courthouse off of Queen Elizabeth Avenue. Hot cocoa will be available and there will be Christmas carols. The event is free and open to the public!

Manteo Christmas Parade

Taking place on December 7th, the annual Manteo Christmas Parade is a tradition cherished by locals and tourists alike! Enjoy local school bands, floats, vintage cars, and more drive through downtown waterfront Manteo!

New Year in the New World

The town of Manteo is closing the downtown streets for live music, family-friendly activities, and an early ball drop for the kids on New Year's Eve. Local food vendors will be on-site, and the downtown restaurants and bars will be open late. Topping it off is a full-on fireworks show, the largest in the state, choreographed to music.
