The recent government shutdown has left many food banks completely empty. Many are completely shut down because there is nothing to give. The Outer Banks has been directly affected by this with local park employees and the Coast Guard. There are many ways you can help! #itcouldhappentoyouobx

Fat Tuesdays at OBAR

Every Tuesday the local food banks are collecting non-perishable items and monetary donations at the following locations:

  • OBAR - 201 W. 8th Street, Nags Head, NC 27959
  • Beach Realty & Construction - 4820 N Croatan Hwy, Kitty Hawk, NC 27949
  • Hatteras Realty - 41156 Hwy 12, Avon, NC 27915

Please make the checks payable to the individual food panrties: Lower Currituck Food Pantry, Beach Food Pantry, and Hatteras Island Food Pantry.

Coffee For Cans

The Kitty Hawk Starbucks is giving out $5 gift cards for every 5 cans that are donated. These gift cards have been donated by locals in the area to encourage donations. Clean out your pantry and bring them in when you grab your morning coffee! This offer is limited, there are only a certain number of gift cards. Canned goods are being picked up by the food banks on Tuesdays.

2019 OBAR Bowling Tournament

OBAR will be donating all the proceeds from the Bowling Tournament on February 22nd to all three food pantries. This will be taking place at OBX Bowling in Nags Head from 6-9pm.
