WinterLights at the Elizabethan Gardens

Friday, November 25   Grand Illuminations – 6pm-9pm Join The Elizabethan Gardens for the opening celebration of WinterLights, a spectacular twenty-two night event of holiday lights and sights. Find holiday warmth and charm inside and out with festive food and drink in the “Embellished” Hall, and cozy fire pits on the Great Lawn as well as seasonal gift shop and plant sales. Stroll along enchanted garden paths and discover the joy of the season with holiday lights, sights and sounds transforming The Elizabethan Gardens into an illuminated winter wonderland. The radiant glow of the gardens, traditional holiday décor and fantastical displays are a true spectacle to behold. Festive trees grace the Gatehouse and Reception Hall and a crackling open-air fire warms the Great Lawn. Seasonal gift shop and plant sales coincide. Celebrate the holiday season with Kitty Hawk Kites. The Saturday after Thanksgiving, visit Santa and stick around for an amazing light display. Multiple 19ft+ kites flying high over Jockey’s Ridge sand, dune decked out in holiday lights. Stay warm with cocoa and cookies and enjoy other festive actives with the Jockey’s Ridge Crossing crew.

Paulos Christmas Lights

Local Kill Devil Hills residents put on a fabulous Christmas lights spectacle open and free to the public! Santa even shows up some nights to take photos with the children! Christmas Lights at the Poulos house, head to KDH, milepost 9.5. Turn west at Pigman’s Bar-B-Que, it’s hard to miss. Dates and times for 2016 have not been posted yet but in past years you can tour the home nightly during the month of December.
